Route 66 Festival In Missouri

Route 66 Festival

Get Your Kicks On Route 66

The Route 66 Festival has become an annual event in Missouri. Officially titled “Birthplace of Route 66 Festival,” the event takes place in Springfield and spans a good portion of the week, from Thursday through Saturday. The event includes a number of activities, including a parade and live music.

America’s Mother Road

The Route 66 Festival is a celebration of Springfield’s role in creating what’s become known as America’s Mother Road. The seventh annual festival kicked off on Thursday at 6:30 p.m. with the “Show Me 66: Main Street Through Missouri” parade.

Plenty of Fun Activites

From there, attendees enjoyed live bands, food vendors, classic cars, and more. There were even fun activities for kids and families. As expected, the turnout was massive and everyone seemed to have a good time.

Classic Vehicles

Classic cars and motorcycles were on display all three days of the event. The classics ranged from mid-century vehicles to eye-catching hot rods. There were also unique exhibits, ranging from maps and stamps to Route 66 memorabilia, on display.

Saturday kicked off with an early morning run. Participants ran a 3.3K or 6.6K route that started at the Springfield Expo Center.

We here at Gateway Buick GMC near St. Louis, MO hope you had a chance to attend the Route 66 Festival! If not, there’s always next year.
