We have great child safety driving tips for Child Safety & Protection month.

One of the most important aspects of driving is knowing how to keep your passengers safe, especially children. Since November is Child Protection and Safety Month, the time is never better to remind yourself of some staple child safety driving tips:

  • Be aware of any illnesses, conditions, or allergies of any child in your vehicle.
  • Keep a well-stocked first aid kit available in your car at all times, in case of an accident.
  • Always use an appropriate child seat based on each individual child’s age and size, and be sure to follow the directions indicated.
  • Make a list of rules in your car that children must follow, which could include rules such as “no yelling” or “keep the windows up” that will prevent you from becoming distracted.
  • Never leave your keys available to a child, in case they attempt to turn on your vehicle.
  • And never, ever leave a child locked in a parked car, especially on a hot day – when the interior can quickly become lethal.
