Buick Achievers Scholarship Program Congratulates Its First Graduates

The Buick Achievers scholarship program kicked off in 2011, which means that, if we’ve done our math right, the first four-year graduates have earned their degrees by now, all thanks to Buick (and some hard work on the students’ part). In celebration of the program’s ongoing commitment to education, Buick has announced that it will provide nearly $1.2 million in new scholarships of up to $25,000 a year for 50 lucky students.

To date, the Buick Achievers scholarship program has awarded more than $28 million in scholarship funds to more than 3,400 deserving students in pursuit of degrees in the fields of science, technology, engineering or math, also known as STEM. Special consideration is given to applicants with diverse backgrounds, those associated with the military, and to women. The scholarships must be renewed each year, with a maximum of four years, or up to five years for students entering a qualified five-year engineering program.

“The Buick Achievers Scholarship Program has become one of the most impactful in the county, demonstrating our commitment to those students who excel while also giving back to their community,” said Duncan Aldred, US vice president of Buick in a statement. “This graduating class serves as a testament to what this scholarship has done for so many students – put a college degree in hand, and set them on their way to further education or the start of their careers.”

Here at Gateway Buick GMC, we encourage qualifying members of our community to apply for the Buick Achievers Scholarship Program – learn more here.
